Classroom Expectations

Daily Meeting Area: Locker Room Hallway

Instructional Philosophy:
Students will be provided with the necessary training for each specific exercise so the exercise process can be safe and productive. Students will be trained on safety procedures as well as organizational procedures for the weight room. Students are encouraged to have a positive attitude with themselves and the progress of others throughout the duration of this course to maintain a productive training atmosphere. Students must recognize there will be beginners, novice, and advanced lifters partaking in this course. Safety will be the first priority in every aspect of this class.

Class Objective:

Proper Dress Code:
Students are required to dress appropriately for physical activities each day. Shorts/sweatpants, T-shirts (short or long sleeved), and tennis shoes are all necessary for participation. No inappropriate clothing will be allowed (see Seward High School handbook.)
No jewelry should be worn during class since it can pose a safety hazard.

Locker Assignments:
You will be given a locker assignment for the semester. Please take care of your locker! Do not leave it unlocked for any reason. Put valuable items in your locker during class time as Seward High School is not liable for any stolen items during class. Do not give anyone your combination. It is your responsibility to keep your things safe and locked up.

Class Expectations:

Participations:
It is expected that students will participate in the activities for the class. Any exception to this will be handled on an individual basis and accommodations will be made for all students to participate in physical activity during the class time. If students to not bring the proper clothing to participate then they will be given a poor participation and dress grade as attire must be as specified to properly participate in the activities. Students that are absent to class or do not have proper clothing to participate will be given an opportunity to make up the grade with research and written work in regards to health, physical fitness, and/or nutrition at the instructor’s discretion.
If students have a medical issue or incident that prevents them from participating in the physical activity of the course then they must provide the instructor with a descriptive, written note from their doctor which explains the situation. The description will need to explain what the student can and cannot do.
