Businesses and organizations in Seward County are invited to store their web pages on the Connect Seward County server at no charge.
- Decide if you will create your own website or hire a web designer to create your pages for you. Some local web designers can be found on the Business/Organization Directory listed under Advertising & Web Design. If you choose to work with a web designer they will help you with the following steps.
- Make sure that you and your web designer each have individual accounts with Connect Seward County. If not, fill out the form by clicking on the E-mail Sign Up link.
- If you wish to purchase your own domain name there are several places to do this online including: www.godaddy.com, www.register.com, www.domain.com, and www.buydomains.com. Your web designer can help you with this step, or there is information available on the FAQ page. If you do purchase your own domain you will need to change the nameservers to ns1.cune.edu and ns2.cune.edu.
If you do not wish to purchase a domain name for your website, one that Connect Seward County chooses will be assigned to you. For example, if the name of your business is Super Trade you may want to purchase the domain name www.supertrade.com. If you do not purchase a domain name Connect Seward County will assign your business a URL such as: www.connectseward.org/bus/SuperTrade
- Complete the Website Authorization Form (click here). This will authorize you and your web designer to make changes. It also protects your site from unauthorized access.
- Access to upload web pages will be given to you and your web designer. You can use the My Website link to upload files into your directory or you can use your own ftp program. Please be sure to maintain your website and keep it current. If you represent a business or organization that wishes to have a link in the directory, please visit www.sewardcounty.biz.
- In exchange for free website hosting on the Connect Seward County server, please add the Connect Seward County logo and link to your website. You may choose from one of the logos below. Copy the HTML code next to the logo and paste it into the code on your web page.
