Middle Creek Mavericks 4-H Club
The Middle Creek Mavericks 4-H Club is a family club geared toward well-rounded 4-H members. They currently have 28 members.
Meetings are typically held at 6:30 p.m. on the second Sunday of each month at the Seward County Ag Pavilion. The 20/20/20 meeting guideline is usually followed. (20 minutes of team-building, 20 minutes of a business meeting and 20 minutes of learning.)
Requirements of Members:
- Attendance is strongly recommended
- This is a fmily oriented club, so parents are expected to attend as many meetings as possible with their child
- Parents are expected to assist with at least one project or club activity in the year.
- Every member complets a record book
- All members participate in club activities at the county fair - for example; herdsmanship, fairgrounds cleanup, building host/food stand, etc.
- Each member gives at least one speech or presentation to the club or project group annually.
General Information:
Parliamentary procedure is used in conducting the business meeting. The goal of the club is to instill in members the 6 pillars of Character Counts.
Project Specialization:
- Horse and beef are prominent but most members participate in a wide variety of projects.
Community Service Projects:
- Adopt-a-Family
- May Day baskets for nursing home residents
- Plant, water and weed flowers on fairgrounds
